I should be sleeping…

Published by danipsychgeek at 11:01 pm under advice, chicago, family Edit This

I had a pretty good day today. Had three classes but they went well. My mom is going to visit me in November, she just booked her flight today and got a good deal $98 one way from Philly. Not too bad. She told me she’d help me cook a Thanksgiving dinner and I can save the leftovers. This is fantastic because 1)I can’t cook turkey, that’s for sure 2)I don’t have the patience to cook a whole dinner 3)I can eat that probably for a month 4)I like learning how to cook 5)Did I mention I can’t cook much?

That should be fun, the only problem is that she is coming in at 4:50 and I have internship until 7ish so she will have to come in from Midway to my apartment. She’s rode the el and bus before but she is nervous about the darkness. She needs to bulk up, it’s not bad at all. Only parts of the city are bad.

I’m guessing after hearing the Hudson story and all of the news stories about people getting killed in Chicago she must have a heightened sense of fear. I’ve lived in Chicago for almost two years now and there are only a few times I have felt unsafe.

Anyway, time for bed! Goodnight world!
